Genesis 3: 24

So he drove out the man, and he placed at the east of the garden of Eden cherubims, and a flaming sword which turned everyway to keep the way of the tree of life

The cherubims are not enemies but integral parts of the redemption of man. The cherubim placed in the garden “to keep the way of the tree of life” are there to prevent further irreversible eternal damages. After man’s encounter with the ancient serpent, who is Satan – a murderer from the beginning, the Lord Jesus calls him – the next move will be to reach out his hand to partake of the tree of life. This will result in the highest degree of eternal monstrosity for it’s impossible for man to combine his state of death with life eternal. However, in God’s gradual working out man’s eternal redemption, the cherubim later take centre stage. In the tabernacle in the wilderness constructed by Moses on God’s instructions and measurements, two cherubim, looking into the future in the ark of God, are either sides of (God’s seat of mercy. Not only this, they are woven into the fabric of curtains of the tabernacle; also on the walls of Solomon’s temple are the cherubim. In other words, these beings are not now keeping man away from the tree of life but are with man on the way and in the way of the tree of life. Declassified

Christ is the tree of life and there’s a clarion call to come into the garden to partake of the tree. Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life…(Revelation 22:12).

It’s more required, however, for now in this age that the cherubim come again to keep the way of the tree of life. This is because man is fast deviating from the course of life right now as many, out of lack of knowledge of the true Lord are mixing life with death in themselves. There’s a practice of honouring and worshipping other beings (in addition to Christ); this is death and life cohabiting in man. This is monstrous. This comes out of man’s present definition of what life is. Life is when man is successful – financially wealthy, intellectually more outstanding, attaining to some position, being famous and influencial. An oracle not of Christ sums life as the blessing of wealth, the blessing of having children and the blessing of good health. Since this is what man takes as the altimate reason for existence, the man that’s saved by the knowledge of Christ from death – desiring these blessings – fervently prays and claims his right to them. This man with new life in him is not wrong for wanting these, but it becomes abnormal when he begins to recognise and acknowledge some beings as supreme in his quests and desire to achieve the beautiful things of this world. It’s wrong to digjify Satan and his cohorts with acknowledgement; they certainly don’t matter in the journey to and of life.

We are still talking about the cherubim. The four beasts of Revelation chapter four look much like cherubim; they’re cherubim. …. and round about the throne were four beasts full of eyes before and behind. And the first beast was like a lion, the second….calf, and the third…had a face as a man, and the fourth…like a flying eagle. And each…had six wings about him…. and they rest not day and night, saying, Holy, holy, holy, Lord God Almighty which was, and is, and is to come (Revelation 4:6-8). It’s easy to see here that cherubim indicate worship in the awesome presence of God and, essentially, they, these carriers of His who are His worshipers, are holy. …and the four beasts fell down and worshipped God that sat on the throne saying, Amen, Alleluia (Revelation 19:4). Endlessly, day and night, they come to a new holy discovery of God that makes them shout, Holy (and this is worship). Bible scholars say that the words translated beasts should have been rendered creatures. Cherubim also represent the awesome presence of God. When this presence lifts and departs a sphere, then chaos and destruction and death as it did from the temple in the days of Babylonian captivity of Israel. Now the cherubims stood on the right side of the house….Then the glory of the Lord went up from the cherub, and stood over the threshold of the house: and the the house was filled with clouds, and the court was full of the brightness of the Lord’s glory…(Ezekiel 10:3-4). The glory of the Lord still does depart from his sanctuary in our days when deliberate sins and syncretism take preeminence. Could this possibly explain the present ridiculing of the assemblies where claimants to the knowledge of God and fellowshippers with the eternal life that is Christ congregate? Many strange doctrines are emerging from these locations.

Help us, Lord, to know You alone and not mix any other knowledge or doctrines with the pure essence of You. We receive the grace from you to keep the excellent knowledge of You in and with us for ever

Thank You, Lord for this
