2 Timothy 1:
9.. who has saved us and called us to a holy life – not because of anything we have done, but because of his own purpose and grace. The grace was given us in Christ Jesus before the world began
God’s purpose in creation is to dwell or live in man or tabernacle or express in him His desire, purpose and will through man. This concept is not a hard one to grasp for anyone who knowledgeable in the scriptures. Here on earth, we’ve seen that spirits dwell in men. This is what is called Spirit possession. We say this with all carefulness without reducing the Lord of creation to the level of spirits, but just to illustrate a point.
In what we can only call the timeless time, when there was no time, God. He existed in Himself. We call such period before the world began, using the scripture phrase. Now, the eternal God was in Himself. He has no beginning or end of time. He just is! We call Him ETERNAL God because His type of life is without beginning. Eternal Life is beyond perpetuation of life. It speaks of a nature that is NOW: there is no past; there’s no future; it is just NOW. It’s a life peculiar to God alone.
We will do well then to return to that life and explore its terrain, if only in a skeletal form. The universe is created. Of particular interest to Him, the Milky Way. In this galaxy, a cluster of stars with their satellites, planets. Amongst these planets, the earth, the divine focus where the Lord lives through His creations, the mankind. The earth is the centre of God gravity for all of creation.
On earth, through man and in man, God’s divine nature of holiness and righteousness are expressed; this creation reflects His nature, His glory, power, might and His excellent moral characters. These bunch up together and express His mind; His speech.
The created man stumbles! (Remember, we’re in the presence of the ETERNAL, the LIFE that NOW is!). The man chooses his own mind being deceived and fails to enter into the nature he’s been invited to. Not only this, he becomes a monster, death-and-sin-ruled. He’s far from what God intended, therefore cannot be indwelt by Him. This deformed being is the product of God’s adversary, His opposer, His anti-nature. He must be annihilated. Yet, His purpose, which cannot come in vain, must be fulfilled. There’s no alteration.
Indeed, the man’s purpose is to be God’s exhibition of Himself in the God-created earth where the adversary lives, to, as one in whom God lives, defeat the enemy. The nature of God which is all about justice and fairness restrains Him from intervention. Man is defeated here; man must rise here to defeat. This man is the first Adam; Adam must also rise up and come to defeat his antagonist. Thus, the last Adam appears to defeat the enemy. The last Adam is God Himself in the form of man. Some people call this theo-God or God-manifest in flesh or God manifests as man.
God breaking through Time
In the beginning God created (prepared, formed, fashioned, and) created the heavens and the earth…. (Genesis 1:1). By this singular act, God broke through into time; He began time. But before then, (i)n the beginning (before all time) was the Word (Christ), and the Word was with God, the Word was God (Himself) (John 1:1). This beginning led to the (I)n the beginning God created… It’s the season of creation by God’s Word, Who is God. For it was in Him all things were created, in heaven and on earth, things seen and things unseen, whether thrones, dominions, rulers or authorities, all things were created and exist through Him (by His service, intervention) and in and for Him (Colossians 1:16). All of creation was created by the service or intervention of the Word Who was from the beginning, Who was with with God, and Who was God. When the dip in the road of journey of the created man occured, and sin and death began their rule over him, this Word became man to take the punishment of the Adam that failed. This Word is Who we later identify as Christ Jesus, and is named the last Adam. …the last Adam was made a quickening spirit (1 Corinthians 15:45). This last Adam, christened the Christ with Whom God was, took up the ETERNAL image, the NOW of God before the world began, in all fullness. We saw that the primary purpose of existence is for God to dwell in His created man through whom He is visible on earth, and here we have the exact specification of the God-desired man first found in the heart of the Father; it’s in in this God-man: For in Him the whole fullness of Deity (the Godhead) continues to dwell in bodily form (giving complete expression of the divine nature) (Colossians to 2:9). This was the way it should have been for the created man, but in the ETERNAL NOW of God, it isn’t. In that Eternal NOW, a lamb of sacrifice to take the place of the failed man was slain. In the eternal past, this Word that became the Christ was slain – before the foundation of the world, before time began, before the foundation of the world. …the Lamb that was slain from the creation of the world (Revelation 17:6). Thus, this Life of the Eternal is a promise held out to anyone who wills to partake of it; it’s what God has decided to share with man. God’s Lamb, the Lord Jesus Christ has answered for this. (Resting in the hope of eternal life) which the ever faithful God Who cannot deceive promised before the the world or the age of time began (Titus 1:2).
This is awesome, Lord, to know that before the world began, I was in your mind, the ages were in Your mind.
Thank You Lord for this
